Other Therapy

core The Japanese word Reiki means Universal Life Energy and is an ancient natural healing art. When applied, it addresses the body, mind and spirit to help balance the whole system. The energy is all around us as well as part of our own energetic being. The practitioner is the vehicle that the energy passes through and is used by the client. This energy helps to balance the system which is used by the body to heal itself. During the usual session, the client remains fully clothed. Reiki is a means of healing which can be taught to anyone wishing to use it on a daily basis. It can also be incorporated to most massage sessions.

core CranioSacral Therapy is also an energetic practice developed by John E. Upledger, DO., O.M.M. It addresses the cranium to the sacrum and the spinal fluid flowing between them. It is considered a major part of the central nervous system. This is performed by a trained person and the client remains fully clothed. Usually treatment consists of several sessions which help balance the body and align the spine to allow the smooth flow of the spinal fluid. The list of conditions which may be addressed with the use of CranioSacral Therapy is unlimited. It can also be incorporated into the massage session.

core Lymph Drainage Therapy is provided by a trained person to assist the lymph system to function properly. It is critical to the body's immune system. The circulatory system uses the heart to do its work, the lymph system requires tiny muscular units to circulate the lymph fluid. During the session the goal is to stimulate the lymph system to move the fluid which has been restricted for a variety of reasons, inflammation, and surgery are just a couple. The therapist is knowleageable to discuss and provide necessary information during the session.

core A system of manual procedures, along with exercises and nutritional support designed to invigorate the internal organs. Most of the manual procedures work by enhancing the flow of blood and lymph through the organs.

core MET is composed of coordinated series of muscle contractions in precisely controlled directions, at very low levels of intensity. MET's are great for tight, spastic muscles. They can be used to bring balance to the hips and spine.

core If your feet aren't happy it is hard for your body to be. Reflexology is an ancient zone therapy, applied to specific points on the feet and hands with the fingers, hydrotherapy, and essential oils. Use of reflexology can be helpful to many problems.

core A great adjunct to Visceral Reflex Technique or massage therapy. It does not make muscles stronger but does increase neurological responsiveness, overall muscle function, and organ function.
